Nursery Rhymes or Mother Goose Rhymes are traditional poems or songs for young children to aid their reading comprehension, verbal communication, spatial reasoning, mathematical skills, lulling kids to sleep and just for their general entertainment. Children’s songs often include finger plays as a toddler learns through imitating adults. These kids songs also engage and sustain a babies interest for longer periods of time. ‘Counting on your Fingers’ is a classic rhyme helping the child understand the importance of presistance and hard work (or Sing a long to the classic ‘Counting on your Fingers’ with Kids Channel). Sing A long to rhyme:

“Can you count from 1 to 5 on your fingers? Here’s how!”
It’s easy counting from 1 to 5
Just open one of your hands
Start with finger you use to point at things
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
– 2
You can even count all the way to 10
Just open your other hand
Carry on counting just the way you just did
6, 7, 8, 9, 10
– 2
It’s easy counting from 1 to 5
Just open one of your hands
Start with finger you use to point at things
1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
– 2
“Wasn’t that easy! And fun!”
